Welcome to Plum Forest Farm
Rob Peterson and Joanne Jewell have farmed on Vashon Island since
1999. We have been organic gardeners, sustainable agriculture activists,
and farmers since the mid 80's. Our goal as farmers is to produce
high-quality local food for you while building healthy soil and managing
our land to provide great habitat for wildlife, domestic animals, and
people. We are proud of the produce we offer and hope you enjoy it.
Plum Forest Farm produces a variety of crops and livestock. Our Scottish
Highland cattle keep the pasture mowed, contribute manure for our
compost piles and provide healthy, grass-fed beef. We raise hens in
mobile coops that allow us to keep them on fresh pasture. Pasture is the
key to high-quality eggs, and is nearly impossible for larger poultry farms
to provide. The hens also contribute manure for the compost piles, which
in turn feed the soil. This fertile soil lives on our flat to gently southward
sloping crop field and grows vibrant produce
Here are three ways for you to enjoy our farm products:
CSA
Ensure yourself delicious seasonal food next year by joining our CSA. In 2010 CSA members will pick up their
shares at the farm on Tuesdays from
late May through late October. While we are working out software issues to update our brochure, you can use our 2009 brochure to sign up for a share in 2010. Click below for the 2009 brochure in pdf format or go to www.plumforestfarm.com/csa.
