Eat Vashon Week

A week long challenge to eat Island Grown!

Eating hyper-locally just means choosing food that’s grown or made really close to where you live—and it actually makes a big difference. When you buy from nearby farms or producers, you’re keeping your money in the community and supporting people who take care of the land around you. Local food doesn’t have to travel far, so it’s fresher, tastes better, and usually has more nutrients. It’s also way better for the planet—less transportation means fewer emissions, and small farms often use more sustainable methods. Plus, eating what’s in season and grown nearby helps you feel more connected to where you live. It’s a simple way to support your neighbors, the environment, and your own health all at once.

We will be sending daily updates in our newsletter (the best way to keep up with what we do!) and social media with recipes, farm stand updates, and other local food resources.

We have many opportunities to eat island grown! Need help buying local food? Our Farms Bucks are available for pick up The Library and The Saturday Farmer’s Market.
